[There are not even crickets out in the nature to hear so.
Silence.
Nobody answered the messages. Ignis is pointedly ignoring the device, whilst in bed with a book. It's still next to him, just in case, but he's not going to send anything.
[Enjoy the absolute bombardment that is about to come your way over the next hour, Ignis.]

[Okay, so the text weren't working. Time to bump it up a notch.
Which meant getting his tipsy self all the way through the main square, across the river and along the main drag of the village. Until he could finally stumble his way into their house, taking precisely enough time to remove his boots before seeking out their room.
Better hope your wine is somewhere stable because he is absolutely flopping on you, Ignis.]
I'm sorry, babe. [Spoken as he cuddles down into Ignis' chest, face hidden in the folds of his pajamas.]
[He felt guilty for not answering the messages, that's undeniable. But he also had to find it in himself to once, once not cave in and just break under Noct's pleas. It's easier over the phone than in person that's for sure.
The sound of Noct arriving is audible, but Ignis doesn't make a move out of the bed to greet him. The glass is put away on the nightstand so it's not in the way. Because he knows what follows.
And he's not disappointed. He really does need to learn how to hide a smile from his voice though.]
Are you though? [Ignis asks, trying to sound indifferent, as he tosses the book onto the floor. Fingers of one hand twine with Noct's hair, but Noct doesn't get a hug. Yet.]
[Rationally, he knows that Ignis is likely trying to teach him something here. That he can't always get out of everything just by playing on his weak points.
But all it does at the current moment is make him pout a little bit more, lifting his head just enough for those bright eyes to be viable under the fall of his bangs.]
[Aside from 'can't get everything by batting eyelashes' lesson, there's not much deeper meaning to this. It's just that Ignis was being petty and poking back 'fun' at Noct.
Also, it got him these cuddles so there are no complaints.
He pokes Noct's nose and sighs, shaking his head.]
You're lucky you're so cute.
[And that he loves you so endlessly that he's ready to fight gods of the undead.]
[With a soft chuckle, Ignis wraps his hands around Noct and turns them both to the side so he can properly hug him (as well as cover Noct with a blanket).]
Maybe. Maybe not. If I tell you, you'll use it all the time, so I think I'll keep it a secret for now.
[Well, Noct mostly knows Ignis' weak spots, but he's not about to voice them.]
[A soft little sound of protest emits as he's moved, because excuse you, he was comfortable. But then Ignis lifts the blanket up over him and takes him in his arms and he honestly forgets what he was even supposed to be complaining about.]
[He's not going to toss you out of the bed, Noct, don't worry. He's too addicted to your hugs and presence and warmth to do such a thing. Honestly, by now, he's so used to it he's not sure he'll be able to go to sleep without Noct in bed next to him.]
I just know you.
[Ignis can't help but smile and press a soft kiss to Noct's forehead.]
[Noctis could no longer sleep without someone by his side either. At first he had assumed it was just because they had all spent so much time crammed into the same tent or forced to share beds in tiny little motel rooms.
Then he realized that it was mostly Ignis he couldn't do without. Always he had seemed to gravitate towards him. Choosing to share a bed with him. Sleeping beside him in the tent. It only felt natural being this close to him.]
Guess you wouldn't be a very good boyfriend if you didn't.
[At least he'll be asleep soon and you can go back to reading.]
[Perhaps it had started like that- one tent with little to no privacy. Them getting used to being in other's company more than they ever anticipated. The trip brought them closer than any type of training or hanging out in the city. It is the only thing Ignis is grateful for, and he wishes he could grant Noctis sunnier, happier days by the beach, fishing and laughing over a campfire.]
I wouldn't be a good friend to begin with... [Ignis says softly, running his fingers through Noct's hair. The book can wait. He wants to hug and cuddle Noct right now. He probably gave him a good scare with not answering, huh?
[Days spent in the warmth of the sun and nights around a glowing camp fire seemed like little more than a distant memory. As if it had all happened years ago instead of months. As if it had all happened to someone else. When it felt like they had all the time in the world to decide what to do next. Putting off the inevitable until it eventually caught up with them.
Here in this place Ignis was his warmth. The fire which light his night sky. And he clung to it, held on desperately, afraid that it might slip through his fingers.
Sighing out his contentment, he shifted in closer, eyes falling closed as he began to give in to the tug and pull and sleep.]
Love you, Iggy. [And then, much quieter, like a thought he had forgotten about until he was mostly asleep.] Can we have pancakes for breakfast?
[The only comfort Ignis has here, in this afterlife, is that he is with Noctis. His biggest fear was to be separated from him; not knowing how he is or if he's cold and hungry. Noct always lingers in Ignis' mind, no matter what he does and where he goes.
His lips press gently against Noct's forehead, and his eyes close tightly at those words. So happy, on the verge of tears, Ignis holds back and sucks in a sharp breath and exhales shakily.]
Of course, Noct. With blueberries and syrup too, [Ignis mutters, feeling his eyes sting. So he closes them, trying to hold the tears of happiness back.]
[In this world of darkness, Ignis was everything. A light that drew Noctis forward, gave him incentive to keep going. To wake each day and actually face it, instead of closing in upon himself with nothing strong enough to pull him through.
Those lips are soft, those kisses gentle, and he soaks up all of that beautiful affection like a sponge. Gives it back sleepily, lips pressing into the hollow of Ignis' throat, right above where the skull of his necklace lay.]
You're the best. Wake me when it's ready. [Because he is definitely slipping off to sleep.]

His nose wrinkles up a bit as it's poked - but it does at least stop him from pouting.]
Is that why you let me get away with so much?
