Out of the four in the group, Ignis is the one with a calm personality, assessing things down to the last detail and developing plans for further action- whether it is battle or diplomatic strategy. From the day Noctis had been placed under his care by King Regis, Ignis took the request and the responsibilities very seriously.
Many of Ignis’ traits come from the years of retainer's training. Outstandingly talented and intelligent, Ignis was schooled to be the prince’s right hand when he grows up and ascends the throne. Eloquent and well mannered, polite but very hard to read. He is not fond of ambiguity, doesn't like to let things "just happen and see how they go"; his plans are always explained to the last detail and he likes when the rest of the group acts accordingly. Although appearing to be very stern on the outside, Ignis had always had a soft spot for Noctis, his misadventures and rebellious nature. More often than not, the Advisor would take the blame for anything that happens, which mostly included Noct sneaking out somewhere where he shouldn't be. Ignis is often reprimanded by Gladio for "babying Noct", especially when it came to Noctis’ eating habits. Ignis is the cook of the group- at first, it was a chore for him but later it became a hobby that he really got involved with, carrying a pen and notebook at his persona at all times, in case inspiration strikes for a new recipe. Aside from enjoying making his friends smile with fine meals, he also makes sure that the meals he cooks for them are tasty and nutritious enough- even for the picky Prince who detests vegetables and would rather eat a shoe than beans. His current goal is to recreate pastry Noctis ate a long time ago in Tenebrae. So far, he had only come close to it once. Jokes tend to fly over his head at times, but he has a deep appreciation for a very well placed pun. Ignis' major weakness is his unmoving devotion to Noctis. The man is ready to fight Astrals and Kings of Old themselves if he has to. Ignis picks up and puts on the Ring of Lucii, fully aware that he can not use it and that there will be consequences. Some of it comes from the fact that he was raised to be his protector, some of it comes from the fact that he grew up with Noctis. He met the Prince when he was the age of seven and spent a lot of time together; Ignis always looked after him, in every way- from making sure he eats, has proper clothes, whether his homework is done, etc. The group jokes that he's 'mother figure' and, well, he kind of is. Any mention of people threatening to Noctis will instantly put him in defensive, "I'll hunt you down in the afterlife if I have to" mode, and not only he's willing to do it- he is capable of doing it. Other weaknesses, albeit not as prominent as the one already mentioned, are: *Fire: Ignis uses fire daggers for one-on-one combat which deals an exquisite amount of damage. Nerf: damage overall and fire doesn't cast light. *Lightning: Ignis uses lightning damage to close the distance between the enemies. He can't warp like Noctis, so this is the closest he has. He is really fast but the damage is light. Nerf: The distance he reaches enemies is smaller and lightning doesn't procure light. *Ice: Ignis uses ice daggers in a wide circle around himself, slowing the enemies and causing medium damage. Nerf: I will be keeping the slow part of the ability but the radius is significantly smaller. *Elemental Enhancement: Ignis' analytical skills allow him to analyze the enemy and spot the weakness. He then imbues Noctis' weapon for the next several attacks with the element that the monster is weak to. I can either lower the duration of enhancement or remove it, I am open to suggestions on this one. *Elemental Grenades: Bombs containing specific elements within them. Nerf: Radius and strength. Fire and Lightning don't procure light. Tactical skills: *Regroup: He recalls the entire party to his side and completely heals them, readying them for a new attack. I will only keep the healing aspect of this, and that will be nerfed too. The healing will handle only minor wounds, which in the game would be equivalent to 100hp being restored. *Poison (Venom Fang): Ignis' daggers have a 50/50 chance of inflicting poison. The odds are increased if he is attacking in combination with Noctis to 60%. It does damage over time and any type of antidote can stop it.
